The owner of Elmina Sharks Football Club, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, has stated that officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) need to be replaced due to their inability to deliver on their mandate.

He noted that some GFA executives misuse funding from the Federation of International Football (FIFA) for personal benefits, neglecting the needs of clubs, referees, and players.

The businessman also lamented the fatalities and chaotic incidents recorded at various Ghana Premier League venues due to the FA’s lack of proper supervision.

Dr. Nduom further expressed concern about clubs in the country going bankrupt due to insufficient financing and support from the football governing body.

“The GFA needs a serious overhaul. A few people at the top feed on FIFA money and leave clubs, referees, and players hungry. What are we waiting for? More deaths, bankruptcies, and Black Stars losses,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

He made these comments following the fatal stabbing of Asante Kotoko fan Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley, during a match between Nsoatreman and Kotoko on January 2, 2024.

Multiple reports suggest the player was stabbed five times and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has banned Nsoatreman from using their home venue and initiated a probe into the violent incident to identify and punish the culprits.
