Many Ghanaians were filled with joy following the Black Stars’ phenomenal performance against Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking to GhanaWeb TV, many fans who watched the match at the Accra Sports Stadium were pleased with the team’s display and praised head coach Otto Addo for setting up an attacking side after the Black Stars hammered Chad 5-0.

Despite acknowledging the strong performance, some fans pointed out that Chad are not a highly competitive opponent and, therefore, the victory was expected.

However, a few others emphasised the significance of the win, noting that it would boost the players’ confidence for the remaining qualifiers.

For the first time since 2020, Ghana scored five goals in a single match, with Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah each getting on the scoresheet.

The dominant win propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 12 points, putting them in a strong position for qualification.

The Black Stars will face second-placed Madagascar on matchday six of the qualifiers on Monday, March 24, 2025, in Morocco.
