Medeama SC head coach, Ibrahim Tanko has set his sights on maintaining the club’s lead in the Ghana Premier League while urging his squad to raise their game in the pursuit of the title.

The Yellow and Mauve are currently on top of the league table with 43 points from 21 matches in the 2025/26 season, holding a seven-point lead over rivals Bibiani GoldStars, Aduana FC, and Hearts of Oak.

“Our target is to stay on top of the league,” Tanko told Sporty FM.

He added that while the team has 13 matches remaining, the players must put in extra effort to secure the championship.

“We have 13 matches to end the season, but we have to do more to win the league, and I am sure that the players are ready,” he added.

Medeama will now focus on their FA Cup tie against FC Samartex at TNA Park later today before returning to league action against Aduana FC next weekend in Matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League, also at TNA Park.
