Henry Nana Boakye, National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party Henry Nana Boakye, National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party

The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has touted the achievements of the party in the health and education sectors, describing them as unparalleled in Ghana’s history.

At a press conference on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, he compared the leadership styles of former President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to him, Mahama, during his tenure as Vice President, was relegated to social events and failed to champion any impactful policies.

In contrast, he pointed out that Dr. Bawumia, as Vice President, has spearheaded 35 transformative policies that have significantly improved the lives of Ghanaians.

“Former President Mahama, he told Ghanaians that he has been confined to social activities, going for funerals and naming ceremonies as vice president. He could not champion even a single policy.

“The next President, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a Vice President, has championed 35 major policies,” he stated.

He reassured the public that in the hands of Dr. Bawumia and the NPP, the Free SHS programme is secure.

“Parents especially the 5. 7 million young persons from 2017, since we implemented Free SHS are grateful to His Excellency, the Vice President.

“5.7 million Ghanaians have so far benefited from the Free SHS and Free T-VET programme and these people are worried about the fate of the destiny-changing policies.

“In the very unlikely event, very very far off event that the NDC wins, the people know that in the hands of Dr Bawumia and his running mate, the Free SHS is safe,” he noted.

Turning his attention to the health sector, Nana Boakye pointed to the government’s ambitious agenda to construct 114 hospitals nationwide in response to lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He noted that approximately 80% of these projects are at advanced stages of completion, promising to create 150,000 direct and indirect jobs for healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and other health workers.

“I have travelled nationwide, and you will see all of these hospitals at different stag

es of completion. 80 percent, and it is massive, and these hospitals will provide 150,000 jobs both direct and indirect, nurses, physicians, and doctors, health workers all of them will be grateful.

“150,000 jobs, this is unprecedented. If you take education, our achievements are unprecedented, health, our achievements are unprecedented,” he stated.

Nana Boakye reiterated that the NPP’s achievements in health and education are unprecedented, urging Ghanaians to recognise the tangible impacts of the party’s policies on their lives and vote for the NPP in the pending elections.
