Ghana head coach Otto Addo has backed his side to respond strongly ahead of their final international friendly of the March window against Germany after their heavy defeat to Austria.

The Black Stars arrived in Stuttgart on Saturday to continue preparations for the Germany game, following their 5-1 loss to Austria last Friday.

The result has raised concerns, but attention has quickly shifted to the next test against the four-time world champions.

Despite the scoreline, Addo believes the defeat did not fully reflect the balance of the game and remains confident in his attacking options. He suggested the team created enough chances and is hopeful his forwards can be more clinical in front of goal.

“The result against Austria was not as big as it was… it could have been 1-1. I’m hopeful my strikers can show it again tomorrow that they can score goals,” he said.

The ex- Dortmund trainer also reminded his players of their ability to bounce back from difficult situations, referencing past setbacks as motivation heading into the Germany clash.

“In the past we’ve been in worse situations like not qualifying for the AFCON but we came back strong. I reminded the boys on that and we’ve agreed on a number of things we have to do better,” he added.

Ghana will face Germany on Monday, March 30, at the MHP Arena as they look to respond with an improved performance and rebuild confidence ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup preparations.
