Black Stars head coach Otto Addo was present at the Red Bull Arena to observe the Europa League clash between Red Bull Salzburg and FC Basel, as he continues his player monitoring programme ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match featured two Ghanaian players, Edmund Baidoo for Salzburg and Jonas Adjei Adjetey for Basel. Adjetey completed the full 90 minutes, while Baidoo was substituted late in the game, making way for Karim in the 90th minute. Salzburg went on to secure a 3-1 victory.

Addo has intensified his scouting efforts in recent weeks as part of preparations for the World Cup. He has already travelled to Spain to watch Abdul Mumin and Kwasi Sibo, and has also checked on the progress of Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Mohammed Salisu, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Mohammed Kudus.

The visits are aimed at strengthening squad cohesion, fostering unity, and reinforcing a strong team culture as the tournament approaches.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia. The tournament will be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States in June.
