Chairman of the Management Committee of the Black Stars, Dr Randy Abbey Chairman of the Management Committee of the Black Stars, Dr Randy Abbey

The Chairman of the Management Committee of the Black Stars, Dr Randy Abbey has confirmed the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decision to retain Otto Addo as the Black Stars coach.

Dr. Abbey explained that the GFA made this decision in an attempt to maintain stability and avoid a change in leadership that could impact Ghana’s World Cup qualification hopes.

He assured that the FA, along with the management committee, will work to turn around the team’s fortunes and get them back to winning ways.

“We think the GFA has made its decision already,” Abbey told Original FM.

“The GFA are keeping Otto Addo. Right now, the focus is on the World Cup qualifiers. We will be ensuring that we reverse the poor trend of results that led to the team’s failure to qualify for AFCON. We need to change course and put the Black Stars back on the winning path.”

Otto Addo’s future was in doubt after failing to secure Ghana’s qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The German-trained coach managed to secure just three points in six games, recording three losses and three draws.
