The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has disclosed that Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has requested that his technical team be strengthened.
According to him, the coach has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to assemble the best team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is in talks with the GFA to employ additional staff to support the squad.

He believes this will be crucial to the team’s success at the Mundial, as it will augment the existing technical staff.
“I also know that there have been conversations with the leadership of the FA to strengthen the technical team. He [Otto Addo] has made certain requests to the FA to beef things up a bit for the World Cup because this is the biggest competition in the world, so you must always put your best foot forward and that’s what he’s trying to do,” Asante Twum told Sporty FM.
He further noted that Otto Addo has been actively scouting for new players and visiting Ghanaian players abroad to motivate them and stay in touch.
“From my conversations with him, he believes that hard work is what will take us there. He’s already working, and I like the effort he’s putting into the build-up to the World Cup. Every time you call him, he’s somewhere either sitting on a train, visiting a player. Sometimes he doesn’t want the information to be out, but the key ones, he wants us to share,” he added.
Ghana has been placed in Group L and will face England, Panama, and Croatia in the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
