A Member of the 2014 Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has criticised Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, describing him as unfit to coach the four-time African champions.

The 48-year-old, who was reappointed in March 2024, came under massive scrutiny after failing to guide the Black Stars to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Following the team’s horrendous performance, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) bolstered the backroom staff by hiring the services of German and AFCON-winning coach Winfried Schäfer as the technical advisor to the Black Stars.

Speaking after Ghana’s shaky performances against Chad and Mali in the Matchday 7 and 8 games in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the September international window, Foh-Amoaning, who is a renowned legal practitioner, slammed the former Borussia Dortmund talent coach, saying he is not good enough to lead the senior national team.

“Otto Addo is not fit for the Black Stars job,” he told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM. “He is a scout coach, learning on the job like doing National Service.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) knows this, and that is the reason why they have brought in Winfried Schäfer to improve the technical team’s quality,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars, who sit at the top of Group I with 19 points, will hope to seal their qualification for the Mundial when they take on the Central African Republic and Comoros in the final round of the qualifiers in October.
