Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged Inaki Williams to adapt well as Ghana gears up for next year’s FIFA World Cup.
The Athletic Bilbao forward missed Black Stars’ final two games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and the Comoros due to injury.
Having completed his nationality switch in 2022, Williams has scored just two goals in 25 appearances for Ghana.
Speaking to Joy Sports, Addo emphasized the need for the Athletic Bilbao striker to better integrate into the team’s setup.
“We have to find a better connection with him, and he has to adapt better with the squad,” Addo said.
The coach also acknowledged that he must play his part in helping Williams thrive.
“I also have to find the best position for him. If we all work on that, we’ll benefit because he has the quality,” he added.
Williams made his debut for Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and has since remained part of the national setup despite his struggles in front of goal.
He is expected to make Black Stars’ final squad for the Mundial, which will be co-hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars will discover their group opponents on December 5.
