    The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, along with his entire technical staff, have reportedly not been paid for three months, according to a report by Kessben FM.

    The report however states that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is in discussions with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to settle the debt promptly to prevent any controversies.

    The reason for the delay in salary payments during a time when the team is struggling was not specified.

    This news has come as a surprise to some members of the public, especially considering the criticism faced by the coach after the Black Stars‘ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

    After six matches, Ghana found itself at the bottom of Group F with only three points, having suffered three losses and three draws.

    Angola and Sudan were the teams that qualified from Group F, while Ghana and Niger did not advance to the next stage of the competition.

    This marks the first time in 21 years that Ghana has failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.

    In the meantime, the GFA has called for Otto Addo to meet with the Executive Council members to review his reports on Ghana’s disappointing performances in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

    The meeting, scheduled for November 27, 2024, will also determine Otto Addo‘s future as the Black Stars coach.
