A former NPP parliamentary aspirant for Subin Constituency, Joseph Boakye Danquah, has fully endorsed the ruling NDC government’s accountability initiative dubbed Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).

Sharing his thoughts on the ongoing accountability drive under the Mahama-led NDC government, in an interview with GhanaWeb on June 21, 2025, JB Danquah declared his backing for the ORAL operation.

In his view, the country can only develop if civil servants, public officials and the ordinary Ghanaian are held accountable in their areas of operation.

“Ghanaians are calling for accountability, why do you think Ghanaians voted for Mahama they way they did? It is because he told us during the electioneering campaign that he is going to undertake ORAL. He is going to hold people accountable. That is what motivated Ghanaians to vote for him.

“Me, the honest truth is that I did not vote for President Mahama but I like what he is doing. I am for it [ORAL]. You see, if Ghana can move forward, we have to learn to hold people accountable-from the classroom teacher to the president. Everyone must be held accountable. No one is above the law,” he said.

He expressed disgust over the rot that has been uncovered at the National Service Authority (NSA) regarding ghost names in the payment system.

He also lamented the seeming exploitation of sweepers at the waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited.

He described the Ghc250 monthly wages of the workers at the waste management company as being “beyond inhumane”.

He subsequently, called for regular audits to expose graft which has become endemic in the country to ensure accountability is upheld at all levels.
