Veteran musician Rex Omar has stated that Ghanaians will be thoroughly disappointed if John Dramani Mahama and his newly elected government fail to recover state funds, lands, and properties from the outgoing government.

Ahead of the December 7 elections, the NDC had pledged to implement ‘Operation Recover All Loots’, aimed at reclaiming state assets allegedly claimed by appointees of Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on the matter and emphasising that there should be no turning back on such a commitment, Rex Omar said: “We cannot continue like this. We’ve witnessed the blatant theft of state resources, lands, and properties, and we cannot afford to disappoint Ghanaians.

“There are too many scandals under Akufo-Addo that we can’t simply overlook, such as the case of Cecilia Dapaah’s stolen money, which the president has cleared her of. It is Ghanaians who are demanding Operation Recover All Loots, and it must happen. Otherwise, there will be no justification for the power entrusted to us,” Rex Omar pointed out during a conversation on Cape Coast-based Property FM.

He emphasised, “We must get to the bottom of these issues because we cannot continue to accept the narrative that every government steals and wastes public funds without facing consequences.”
