The Founder of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre, Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, has criticized the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, following a viral video showing him handing out U.S. dollars to a repentant priest, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.
Responding to the incident in a conversation with his junior pastor, Prophet One questioned why Sammy Gyamfi could afford to distribute U.S. dollars only after receiving a government appointment, just months after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) took over power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“You have never shared dollars, today, where did you get the dollars from? People may think that you have also started embezzling state funds. Meanwhile, it could be a gift from someone. But how many people will know that it is your own money?
“If you are sharing dollars now that you have a government appointment, it will be assumed that you have stolen state funds. Sammy Gyamfi has to be very careful. I am not even worried about the car he drove to the event; I am more concerned about the money. He should not repeat that mistake again. People want to occupy that office, and he should know that he is not the only person who deserves to be there,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sammy Gyamfi has apologised to the public and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) fraternity over the incident.
Gyamfi reportedly gave out an undisclosed amount of foreign currency to Nana Agradaa at an event which has gone viral.
The incident has sparked public criticism and raised concerns regarding the ethical conduct expected of public officeholders.
The Code, a cornerstone of the government’s broader anti-corruption agenda, emphasizes integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life.
