Following the success of the inaugural edition, which attracted hundreds of footballers from across the sub-region, One World Sports Management Group, organizers of the West African Talent Hunt, have set their sights on expanding the tournament across the entire African continent.

The three-day tournament featured players from across the sub-region, representing sixteen teams as they showcased their talents and skills to a high-profile delegation of European scouts.

The scouting team, led by the world-renowned Innocent Okeke, the first Black individual to obtain a FIFA license to operate in Scandinavian countries, observed the matches with keen attention, aiming to identify, sign, and nurture the next big star from the West African sub-region.

Speaking to the media about the event’s success, Sammy Anim Addo, a member of One World Sports Management, expressed his profound excitement about the turnout and elaborated on the principles and objectives underpinning the competition.

Sammy Anim explained that One World Sports Management aims not only to discover talents and place them with clubs but also to ensure the holistic development of players, fostering them not just as footballers but as individuals with strong moral values and strong support systems.

He emphasized that One World Sports is pioneering a new chapter in talent management by focusing not only on footballing talent but also on other sporting disciplines.

The former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association noted that his organization seeks to bridge the gap between African sporting talents and the global stage by exposing them to world-class talent development and management practices.

“We are trying to connect the world as a family by creating opportunities, identifying talents, and turning them into superstars. With the experience we have from globally acclaimed agents from Europe, America, and all over the world, we believe that we can do something big for the African continent.

“This year, we held the West African Talent Hunt, and the plan is to host it in other sub-regions and even extend it to the Arabian region, ultimately taking it global. We are elevating it to ensure that the global market places premium value on our players.

“We are not just discovering and selling them; we are orienting, mentoring, and grooming them to ensure that by the time they reach Europe, they are fully prepared. We will also expand into boxing, athletics, and other sports as we transform the landscape of sports management in the country.”

Teams such as Berekum Chelsea, Attram de Visser, Great Somas, Zilina Africa, Klassich Academy From Nigeria, and many others participated.

Selected players from the three-day event will advance to the next phase of the program before earning the opportunity to pursue careers abroad.
