The solemn event is scheduled to take place at Dodua Kr’Ase, Nkoranza fie, within the Nkoranza traditional area.
The confirmation came from Nana Nyarko Ababio, the Senior Linguist of Nana Kwame Baffoe IV, Nkoranzamanhene, and Nana Yaa Sarpomaa, Nkoranzahemaa.
Addressing members of the media at a press conference on Monday, Nana Nyarko Ababio conveyed the Council’s deepest condolences to the grieving family and extended an invitation to the public to join in honoring the memory of the distinguished Oheneba.
The one-week observation is a cornerstone traditional Ghanaian ceremony held seven days after the passing of an individual. It serves as a crucial time for family members, traditional leaders, and the broader community to formally mourn the deceased, share condolences, and commence official preparations for the final funeral rites.
Oheneba Agyei Baffoe leaves behind an indelible legacy spanning various sectors. His remarkable career demonstrated a unique blend of traditional leadership and high-level corporate and public service, earning him widespread respect and admiration.

He subsequently held significant positions as Executive Director of IKAM LTD and Megastar.
His profound impact extended to public service, where he contributed significantly to the Office of the Senior Minister – during the tenure of the late JH Mensah – in the administration of President John Agyekum Kufour.
He also held highly influential roles as the Deputy Controller and Accountant General as well as the Director of Budgets at the Ministry of Finance. He held various roles in the Akufo-Addo administration including as a technical advisor at the Ministry of Finance and Coordinator of the Public Financial Management Reform Project. He also served as the Chief Director of the Ministry of Health.
Furthermore, he spent time at Zoomlion, a leading environmental sanitation company, as Executive Director.
The late Oheneba Agyei Baffoe also served as the acting Nkoranzamanhene when the late Okatakyie Agyeman’s health declined as a chief, and subsequently served as acting president of the Nkoranza Traditional Council until the confirmation of the current Omanhene Nana Kwame Baffoe IV in 2020.
The one-week observation is expected to draw a large gathering of chiefs, traditional leaders, government officials, business executives, family members, and sympathizers from across Ghana and beyond. All are anticipated to come together to pay their last respects to a man who served his community and nation with distinction.
Further details regarding the final funeral arrangements are expected to be announced during the observation.
