Sarkodie has disclosed that one of his biggest hurdles in staging his annual Rapperholic concerts is deciding which songs make it onto the setlist.
Speaking on YFM Kumasi, the popular rapper explained that with such an extensive music catalog, narrowing the list has never been easy.
“One of the hardest things to do is to pick what song to perform. Because anytime there is rapperholic, we have the fans angry because they are not satisfied and are looking forward to a certain song,” he said.
The Sarkcess Music boss admitted that even though fans expect to hear all the popular tracks, performing every single one of them in one night is nearly impossible.
“There are a lot of songs; it is a big catalog. If I try to perform every song, it is going to be hard. What I try to do is to show where I perform songs that we normally don’t,” Sarkodie explained.
Despite the difficulty, Sarkodie indicated that his team is working to balance the show with both classics and fan favourites.
“If you are not a fan of Sarkodie, you can’t say you haven’t heard ‘Can’t Let You Go’ and the other big songs. When we put such songs together, we have close to two hours,” he added.
This year’s edition, according to him, will include a twist suggested by his official DJ, Mensah.
“This particular one, Mensah said we should put a list of songs we haven’t heard for a while. And we are getting feedback from the people and the songs they want to hear on stage,” Sarkodie revealed.
The Kumasi edition of the Rapperholic Concert will be held on September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
