A rare video has surfaced online, offering a glimpse into a side of Sharaf Mahama that many Ghanaians may not have seen before: a gifted young footballer with quick feet, sharp dribbles, and an eye for goal.
Sharaf, the son of President John Dramani Mahama and now CEO of Legacy Rise Sport, has recently turned heads with his public football drills on an AstroTurf pitch in Accra.
But this newly resurfaced clip goes much further back, revealing that his love for the beautiful game runs deep.
In the short but telling footage, a young Sharaf was captured weaving past defenders with effortless dribbles, striking the ball cleanly with both feet, and showing off the kind of composure in front of goal that hints at serious promise.
His natural touch, balance, and confidence on the ball have left many on social media wondering why he didn’t chase a full-time career on the pitch.
Instead, Sharaf has built a name for himself off the field, most recently by organising the acclaimed, “Battle of the Beasts” boxing event in Ghana in collaboration with Amir Khan Promotions, a move that earned praise for boosting the country’s boxing scene.
