Okwawu United have officially appointed Boniface Kutigsi Ayipah as head coach on a two-year contract, tasking him with leading the club back to the Ghana Premier League after finishing third in Division One Zone Three last season.
Ayipah, a seasoned tactician, brings over two decades of coaching experience across men’s and women’s football in Ghana.
His recent roles include stints with Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies FC and Victory Club Warriors FC in 2024, and Skyy FC in 2023.
He also worked with Nsoatreman FC during their 2022 Premier League campaign, having previously guided them in Division One.
A graduate of the University of Education, Winneba, with a BSc in Mathematics Education, Ayipah began coaching in 2004 with Young Deportivo FC and later managed clubs like Aboadze Parma, Pacific Heroes, Takoradi City, and Kassel FC. He holds a CAF Coaching ‘B’ License.
Known for his strong background in player development and tactical discipline, Ayipah’s appointment signals Okwawu United’s ambition to reclaim their top-flight status.
Once a dominant force in Ghanaian football, the Nkawkaw-based side is banking on his leadership to revive their glory days.
Pre-season preparations are set to commence shortly as the “Asaase Aban” launch their bid for promotion.
