The Life Patron of Nzema Kotoko FC, Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, has filed a legal suit at the Sekondi High Court of Justice against top-flight club Basake Holy Stars FC and his Chief Executive Officer, Simon Ehomah, according to reports.

The plaintiff is seeking an interlocutory injunction to prevent the defendants from further interfering with the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III Sports Arena in Ampain.

According to emerging reports, the plaintiff’s motion is supported by an affidavit sworn by Ernestina Agyapong, a director of Nzema Kotoko, who claims the club has full ownership rights to the stadium.

The suit seeks several court orders, including a declaration of title to the land, an order compelling the defendants to vacate the property, damages for trespass, and a perpetual injunction to restrain them from further interference.

Ernestina Agyapong stated that the stadium was acquired and developed by Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, then Paramount Chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council and founder of Nzema Kotoko, for the exclusive use of the club.

According to the affidavit, the land was developed into a proper football field under the authority of the plaintiff and has always served as the club’s official training ground and match venue.

The plaintiff alleges that Basake Holy Stars Football Club, a team owned by the second defendant, Simon Ehomah, forcibly entered the locked stadium by breaking the gates and began unauthorised physical developments on the land without the plaintiff’s permission.

The plaintiff now relies on the legal system to uphold their claim of ownership and restrain the defendants from any further occupation or use of the property. The matter remains pending and is expected to draw significant public attention given the stature of the individuals and clubs involved.
