Eduardo Nunez Vs Christopher Diaz Fight Night

Mexican Eduardo Nunez won a much tougher first defense of his IBF Jr. Lightweight title against Christopher Diaz, than expected. Despite the 117-109 (twice) and 116-110 scorecards, Nunez had all he could handle and more in this Puerto Rico vs Mexico war. A pair of knockdowns in the seventh gave Nunez a three-point round- a round he could’ve very well been losing up to that point, meaning a four-point swing and a much closer fight on the scorecards.

The fight appeared to be a back-and-forth war, with each man taking turns gaining the upper hand and thrilling the fans both live and on DAZN. In the end, Nunez improves to 29-1, 27 KOs, while Diaz falls to 30-6, 19 KOs.

Former WBC light fly champ Pedro Guevara had a tougher than expected battle on his hands with your Mexican upstart Alexis Medina in the main supporting bout. Neither man could manage a sustained edge as they battled to a three-way split draw with scores of 97-93 Molina, 96-94 Guevara and 95-95. Guevara now stands at 430502, 22 KOs, while Molina drops to 13-1-2, 5 KOs.
