The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has asked its Prosecutor to trigger disciplinary process against Ghana Premier League (GPL) side, Nsoatreman FC, for withdrawing from the competition.

The decision is in line with the provisions of the Regulations, including but not limited to Article 13(5) of the Regulations.

An FA statement revealed that the decision followed the association’s several engagements with the club on the subject matter without success.

The GFA received a letter from the Premier League side, Nsoatreman FC, announcing their decision to withdraw from the ongoing Premier League.

In the letter signed by the Club President and received from the official email of the club on March 14, 2025, the Club stated that the withdrawal was “due to safety concerns over the security and safety of our players.”

The club also stated that they were compel to take the decision due to events in their matches with Asante Kotoko SC and FC Samartex 1996, and can no longer guarantee the safety of their players.

That resulted in a decision by the management and board to withdraw from the league.

By this decision, the Prosecution office of the FA is expected to trigger Article 13(5) of the Regulations.

It states that “where a club withdraws from the league after it has started, any match which that club is scheduled to play shall be considered forfeited and accordingly, three (3) points and three (3) goals shall be awarded in favour of the opposing club.”

“Going forward, on each scheduled match day of Nsoatreman FC, three (3) points and three (3) goals shall be awarded in favour of the opposing club,” the statement disclosed.
