The National Service Authority (NSA) has given prospective National Service Personnel who are still affected by biodata mismatches until Wednesday, August 26, to report to its headquarters for assistance and final resolution of their cases.

According to a press release issued on Monday, August 24, the directive is aimed at students who have been unable to correct discrepancies in their personal details and are consequently unable to complete the National Service registration process.

The Authority said the intervention was intended to provide a final opportunity for affected students to regularise their records before the registration deadline.

According to the NSA, affected students must report to the Authority’s headquarters before August 26 to enable the necessary corrections to be made and their records aligned for registration.

The Authority said it is working with the National Identification Authority (NIA), Ghana Publishing Company and Commissioners for Oaths to facilitate the resolution of the biodata discrepancies.

The NSA said the relevant institutions would assist affected students based on the nature of their individual cases, with the ultimate objective of enabling them to proceed with National Service registration within the stipulated period.

Students who have not yet obtained the required affidavit will be assisted through the process of preparing and swearing the necessary document before a Commissioner for Oaths.

The affidavit is required to support the correction of the affected student’s biodata and facilitate the necessary changes to their records.

The Authority has therefore urged students in this category not to delay in reporting to its headquarters, where they will be guided through the process.

For students whose cases require a Gazette publication, the NSA said they would be guided through the process with the assistance of the Ghana Publishing Company.

The Gazette publication forms part of the documentation that may be required to regularise certain biodata discrepancies.

Students who fall into this category will consequently be directed through the appropriate process to obtain the required publication and subsequently have their records corrected.

The NSA has stressed that students who have already completed the affidavit and/or Gazette publication process but have not yet had their records corrected must also report to the Authority’s headquarters.

Such students are required to bring their original affidavit, Gazette publication and any other relevant supporting documents to facilitate the necessary amendments.

The Authority said possession of the documents alone does not automatically mean that the student’s records have been corrected.

Affected students must therefore report to the NSA to ensure that the relevant changes are properly effected and their biodata aligned with the records required for National Service registration.

The NSA has also advised affected students to come along with all relevant original documents when reporting to its headquarters.

These include their Ghana Card and, where applicable, their affidavit and Gazette publication.

The documents will assist officials in verifying the students’ identities and determining the appropriate corrections required in their records.

The Authority said students should ensure that they have all supporting documentation available to avoid unnecessary delays in resolving their cases.

The NSA described the intervention as a final opportunity for students with unresolved biodata mismatches to regularise their records and complete their National Service registration.

Once the necessary corrections have been made and a student’s records have been duly aligned, the individual will be able to proceed with the registration process.

The Authority has urged all affected prospective National Service Personnel to take immediate action rather than waiting until the final day.

The Authority has called on all affected students to report before the August 26, deadline to avoid being left out of the registration process.

It said the collaboration with the NIA, Ghana Publishing Company and Commissioners for Oaths was designed to make it easier for affected students to resolve the administrative and documentation challenges preventing them from completing their registration.

The NSA has therefore encouraged prospective National Service Personnel to make use of the intervention promptly and bring all relevant original documents to facilitate the process.
