The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced that the 2025/2026 service year will officially begin on Monday, November 3, 2025, following reforms aimed at addressing fraud and data integrity challenges within the scheme.

At a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Acting Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh confirmed that the new service year would proceed as scheduled after the successful completion of a full digital overhaul and audit of the Authority’s systems.

“We expect every eligible person who completes registration and posting to be at post on Monday, November 3, 2025. This follows the successful completion of the transition to a new, more secure digital platform,” she stated.

Registration for all prospective national service personnel will open on Wednesday, October 8, and close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Seddoh explained that applicants are required to register again, as the previous exercise in June 2025 has been declared invalid.

“When the system was opened in June, over 12,000 people registered, but our audit revealed more than 2,000 inaccurate or fake entries. To maintain integrity, all those who registered then must register again. However, anyone who made payments in June will have their money refunded,” she said.

She emphasised that the Authority is committed to accountability and transparency as it prepares to deploy thousands of graduates nationwide in November.

“National service will not just be a year of obligation. It will be a year of opportunities and growth. We are resetting national service, a new chapter begins now,” Ruth Seddoh noted.
