NSA Director-General, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah assures NSA staff of retention NSA Director-General, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah assures NSA staff of retention

The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has assured demonstrating staff members that he will work to protect their employment status.

Seventeen staff members came under scrutiny after it was disclosed that they had been employed through illegitimate means without following proper legal procedures.

This revelation led the affected staff to stage a protest at the Accra Sports Stadium to express their displeasure, demanding better ways to resolve the issue rather than dismissal.

During the protest, they encountered Ampofo Ankrah, who assured them that the matter would be addressed to prevent any possible termination of their jobs.

The NSA boss emphasised that as long as they are qualified Ghanaians, he would do everything possible to safeguard their jobs, urging them not to rely on false allegations.

“At this stadium, even football could not be played here. You are Ghanaians. Even if we put politics aside, you came when we were down, so we cannot abandon you. But there’s miscommunication, and a little bit of mischief from some people spreading misinformation.

“Don’t fall for that trap. If there’s any issue you read online or on social media, just come and ask. Nobody here is going to lose their job while I am here. I will protect you,” Ankrah said.
