    NPRA mourns former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

    The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has expressed deep sorrow following the death of former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her as a “distinguished stateswoman” whose impact on Ghana’s development remains unforgettable.

    In a statement issued by the Authority, the Board, Management and Staff acknowledged the immense contributions of the late former First Lady, particularly in the areas of women’s rights, economic empowerment and social development.

    “The Board, Management, and Staff of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) have learned with deep sorrow, the passing of Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings,” the statement read.

    Death of the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings: What we know so far

    The authority highlighted her leadership through the 31st December Women’s Movement, which championed the welfare and opportunities of women and children across the country.

    “She was a distinguished stateswoman, an iconic figure in Ghana’s political and development history, and a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment,” the NPRA noted, adding that her contributions are “an indelible part of the country’s history.”

    The Authority further extended heartfelt sympathies to her family, traditional leaders, and the nation at large.

    “The NPRA extends its deepest condolences to her children, the entire Rawlings family, the Government, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the National Democratic Party (NDP), and the people of Ghana during this difficult period of mourning.”

    “The Authority stands in solidarity with the nation as we celebrate the remarkable life and enduring legacy of an extraordinary Ghanaian woman. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” it concluded.

    Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings passed away on October 23, 2025, at age 76.
