    Baba Ali Yussif has officially been acclaimed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as its parliamentary candidate for the upcoming Ayawaso East Constituency by-election, slated for March 3, 2026.

    The announcement, made by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong on February 9, 2026, follows extensive consultations with key stakeholders across the constituency and the Greater Accra Region.

    Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has formed a committee to investigate allegations of vote-buying during the party’s recent parliamentary primaries, which was won by Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, Ghana’s former Ambassador to Nigeria.

    The Majority Caucus in Parliament has also called for the immediate annulment of the primaries and sanctions against any aspirant found culpable

    Baba Ali Yussif, currently serving as the Constituency Secretary of the NPP in Ayawaso East, is a seasoned educator and one of the longest-serving Constituency Secretaries in the Greater Accra Region.
