A Founding Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has challenged the party to expel him and other founding members if it goes ahead with plans to sack former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng.

The NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, announced on January 13, 2026, that the party had initiated internal processes to expel Prof Frimpong-Boateng following what it described as disparaging remarks against the party’s leadership and internal structures.

According to the party, comments made by Frimpong-Boateng in a media interview on Monday, January 12, 2026, were ‘highly reprehensible and inimical to the values, unity and integrity of the party.’

However, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has rejected the party’s position, saying Prof Frimpong-Boateng did not make any disparaging remarks and merely highlighted genuine concerns affecting the NPP.

I don’t belong to the ‘fake’ NPP anymore – Professor Frimpong-Boateng

In a 3news.com report on January 13, 2026, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe said he fully agreed with the views expressed by Prof Frimpong-Boateng and insisted that the issues raised were matters troubling the party’s grassroots and senior members alike.

“I listened to Prof Frimpong-Boateng’s interview and I must say without fear that I agree with him entirely. All the points that he raised are issues that are really worrying the party,” he indicated.

He added that any decision to expel Frimpong-Boateng should be extended to other longstanding members who share similar views.

“What I will say at this stage is that if they sack Frimpong-Boateng, then they should sack me. They should sack Kwame Pianim, they should sack Dr Arthur Kennedy and quite a number of us,” Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe stated.
