Media personality Afia Pokua, known as Vim Lady, has advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to persuade Agona West MP Cynthia Mamle Morrison to join their Caucus in Parliament.

She has emphasised that, given the current political climate and the NPP’s struggle to maintain its majority, securing Morrison’s support would be crucial for the party’s stability.

Vim Lady has cautioned that failing to bring Morrison on board could lead to significant challenges for the NPP, particularly as some of their MPs plan to contest the 2024 general elections as independents.

She believes that Cynthia Morrison’s independent bid could spell trouble for the NPP Caucus moving forward.

“This showdown with Hon. Cynthia Morrison is crucial; the NPP must beg with her. Otherwise, they may face trouble in retaining parliamentary seats,” she stated on her Instagram.

This development follows Cynthia Morrison’s reaffirmation of her decision to run as an independent candidate in the forthcoming elections, despite recent speculation of her contesting on the ticket of the party.

In a statement issued on October 22, 2024, she clarified that reports suggesting she would reconsider her independent candidacy are false.

She dispelled such claims and urged the media to disregard them.
