The Communications Director for the Bawumia Campaign Team in the 2024 elections, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is ready to accept any member who has backslidden but still believes in the party’s ideology.

According to him, the party needs people to work with, and as such, any member who has been suspended or has willingly withdrawn from the party is welcome to return.

“It is a call that everybody in the party agrees to. I think the party has already indicated its open-door readiness to receive everybody and get everybody on board. But, of course, not all the names he mentioned are on suspension.

“Mr. Paul Afoko has not been suspended from the party. He is still a member of the NPP, so he hasn’t left the party. His issue only had to do with the position he was holding, but he wasn’t suspended. Alan Kyerematen has not been suspended from the party; he has left the party to form another political party.

“The position of the party across the country is that everybody who is willing and ready and believes in the ideologies of the NPP, the party is ready to accept them,” Aboagye stated in an exclusive interview with Channel One Newsroom on Saturday, April 26, 2025, as quoted by citinewsroom.com.

His comments follow a call by former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, who urged the party to reintegrate defected and suspended figures, including Paul Afoko and Alan Kyerematen, to strengthen unity ahead of the 2028 elections.
