A PROPHET, Eric Boahen Uche, has urged the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to hold to the ideals of the party and work to unite the party for victory in the 2028 general elections.

According to him, bringing all the contenders together and uniting the party would be crucial for the party to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress.

Prophet Uche, Founder of Reign House Chapel, one of the prophets who accurately predicted the victory of Dr Bawumia, said in a statement.

The statement copied to The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, said Prophet Uche made the prophecy during a church service few weeks ahead of the primaries and declared that Dr Bawumia would not only win but would secure between 56 and 57 per cent of the total votes cast.

Dr Bawumia emerged winner in the just ended NPP presidential primaries held last Saturday, securing 110,643 votes, representing 56.48 of the total valid votes cast.

According to the statement, Mr Uche’s prophecy was met with skepticism, especially given the intensity of the contest and the strong grassroots enthusiasm surrounding other contenders—particularly outspoken former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, who enjoyed massive support among party foot soldiers.

“However, when ballots were finally counted and results officially declared, Dr Bawumia won decisively, securing a commanding majority well within the margin Prophet Uche had publicly foretold—a development that has since sparked widespread discussion across political and religious spaces,” it said.

The NPP race was widely described as open-ended, with analysts divided and many prominent religious figures predicting victories for rival candidates—predictions that ultimately failed to materialise.

It said despite the noisy campaign environment, shifting alliances, and aggressive messaging from all camps, Prophet Uche’s prophecy remained consistent and unambiguous, earning it recognition as one of the most accurate and unprecedented political prophecies linked to the NPP presidential primary cycle so far.

It said political observers note that even seasoned commentators hesitated to project such a clear margin of victory, making the precision of the prophecy all the more remarkable.

The statement said over the years, Prophet Uche had built a reputation as a calm but firm prophetic voice, often steering clear of the sensationalism that characterises much of Ghana’s prophecy landscape.

“Unlike some self-styled prophets who release multiple, contradictory political predictions, Prophet Uche are known for restraint—speaking only when he claims to have clear spiritual conviction. Members of his congregation describe him as deeply prayer-oriented, with a strong focus on leadership, governance, and national destiny,” the statement said.

It said though not overtly partisan, Prophet Uche had on several occasions emphasised the need for visionary leadership, economic stability, and peace—values he has often linked to his prayers for Ghana’s future.

“Following the outcome of the NPP primaries, Prophet Eric Boahen Uche’s name has gained renewed attention, with many Ghanaians pointing to his prediction as evidence of spiritual insight at a time when political certainty was scarce,” the statement said.

As Ghana draws to the 2028 general elections, his fulfilled prophecy has positioned him as a clergyman whose words are now being watched more closely—not just by congregants, but by political observers as well.
