    A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential aspirant, Ing Francis Addai-Nimoh, has revealed that the party is demanding a whopping GH¢4.6 million from individuals seeking to contest for the party’s flagbearer position.

    Breaking down the costs, Addai-Nimoh explained that aspirants are expected to pay GH¢100,000 for forms, GH¢500,000 for nomination filing and GH¢4 million as development fees.

    Speaking on OTEC 102.9 FM’s afternoon political show “Dwabrem” on Wednesday August 27, 2025, Addai-Nimoh disclosed this information shortly after announcing his withdrawal from the flagbearer race.

    He cited bias in the processes as the reason for his decision.

    The GH¢4.6 million fee translates to 46 billion in old cedis, a figure that has raised concerns about the party’s internal democracy and the ability of ordinary Ghanaians to participate in the electoral process.

    Addai-Nimoh’s revelation has sparked debate about the party’s nomination process and the need for reforms to ensure inclusivity and fairness.

    Addai-Nimoh’s withdrawal from the flagbearer race is seen as a significant development within the party.

    He expressed his disappointment with the party’s internal processes, stating that they undermined the principles of fairness and equality.

    Despite his exit, he wished the remaining aspirants well in their pursuit of the party’s leadership
