Joycelyn Quashie, the Member of Parliament for North Dayi, through her Agrogrowth Project, has partnered with experts in agriculture and agribusiness to launch a comprehensive training programme for 250 constituents in mushroom farming and processing.

The three-month pilot programme also includes modules in gari and rice processing, designed to equip participants with practical and employable skills.

As part of the initiative, participants are being provided with basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Wellington boots, overcoats, gloves and sanitizers, as well as a monthly stipend to support them throughout the training.

In her remarks at the opening session, the MP encouraged participants to take the training seriously, emphasising that the knowledge and skills they acquire would position them for sustainable income generation.

She further reaffirmed her commitment to supporting trainees beyond the classroom by helping to secure buyers for their products once production begins.

The programme, which is currently being implemented in Awate, Wusuta and Tsrukpe as a pilot, is expected to be expanded to cover other traditional areas in North Dayi by October this year.
