    A businesswoman has sparked a conversation online after referring to men as gold diggers after a younger man attempted to woo her.

    The businesswoman backed up her claim by sharing a chat from a younger man expressing romantic interest despite knowing her marital status.

    The man had promised to be a good team player, friend, and husband to her while pleading with her to extend his greetings to her children.

    She had claimed that once a woman is financially secure, age or motherhood no longer becomes a barrier to romantic attention.

    Her post read;

    “Nobody digs gold more than a Nigerian man. You see all that mouth they make about not marrying older women or women with children? What they really mean is: they’re not marrying broke women with children, or broke older women.
    If you’re a woman in Nigeria and you have money, just watch, young guys in their 30s will flood in, proposing marriage left and right. Many of them are already married to wealthier women in their 40s, while they themselves are in their 30s. If you think it’s love, look through any popular Nigerian man that has married an older woman, and ask yourself, why is the woman always rich?
    See this one, with all the family content I post on this street, he’s already building castles in the air. Shebi una see am?
    Wooh, woman go find money abeg. Don’t let anyone tell you that you won’t see husband, just have correct money. You’ll see very humble, fine young men ready to marry.”

    The post has sparked mixed reactions, while some accused her of generalizing and unfairly portraying Nigerian men, others agreed with her point of view.
