The Minister of the Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, has praised the ongoing recruitment into the security services, describing the process as smooth, orderly and transparent.

Speaking during a visit to the Ghana National Fire Service Training School at Jamestown, where screening is currently underway, the minister said the exercise’s calm and organised nature reflected strong planning and coordination among the security agencies.

“So far, the process has been seamless, and that is because the agencies involved planned well and worked together to ensure fairness and transparency,” he said.

Muntaka explained that he had been touring various screening centres not only to monitor the exercise but also to encourage applicants to complete the processes themselves, without relying on intermediaries or so-called ‘protocol’ connections.

He outlined the next steps for candidates who pass the initial screening, noting that the current phase focuses on documentation and physical inspection.

Successful applicants, he said, would then move on to an online aptitude test, followed by medical examinations.

The minister issued a strong warning against corruption and fraud, cautioning applicants to stay away from individuals who promise guaranteed recruitment in exchange for money.

“There are no shortcuts in this process, and anyone who claims they can influence recruitment for a fee is deceiving you.

“Such practices will not be tolerated, and those involved will be arrested and prosecuted,” he urged them.

Muntaka also commended security personnel overseeing the exercise and thanked applicants for their willingness to serve the country.

He added that recent digital reforms, including the use of a centralised e-recruitment portal, were helping to make the process more efficient, transparent and strictly merit-based.
