The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has responded to recent comments made by Eddie Nketiah, in which the Crystal Palace forward expressed his willingness to represent the Black Stars, a stance that marks a notable shift from his earlier commitment to England.

Speaking on the matter on Original FM, Okraku made it clear that no official communication has been made regarding Nketiah’s interest.

“No one has spoken to me about Eddie Nketiah,” Okraku stated plainly, distancing himself from the buzz surrounding the striker’s apparent change of heart.

Nketiah, who has represented England at various youth levels and holds the record for the most goals for England U21s, recently told ‘The Beautiful Game’ podcast that he would now accept a call-up from Ghana if invited.

“When I was younger, representing England was an option after progressing through the youth system. But if Ghana invites me, then I’ll be there,” Nketiah said.

His comments have reignited the long-running debate over dual-nationality players who previously turned down Ghana but later show renewed interest when opportunities with other nations stall.

Despite the stir, Okraku’s response suggests that no formal steps have yet been taken to re-engage Nketiah.
