Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has been appointed as head coach of Eleven Wonders and took charge of his first training session with the team on Saturday, August 9, 2025, ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The appointment marks another chapter in Lamptey’s growing coaching career, having recently handled roles with Elmina Sharks and stepped in at various levels within Ghana football.
Eleven Wonders, now under the ownership of Legon Cities FC boss Richard Atippoe, will compete in the Premier League this season despite Legon Cities’ relegation last term.
Atippoe secured the top-flight slot of Techiman-based Eleven Wonders and has retained the club’s name, though the team will now be based in Accra.
Lamptey’s immediate task will be to shape a competitive squad capable of improving on last season’s struggles under the Legon Cities banner.
Training begins today, with the former Aston Villa and Anderlecht star eager to stamp his philosophy on the side before their campaign kicks off.
