A wildlife worker mauled to death by a crocodile was in so much pain he could not scream and barely managed to utter the words: ‘I haven’t done anything wrong’.
The worker had been feeding the beast inside the enclosure at Adventure Park in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, when he was attacked on Saturday afternoon.
The crocodile clamped its jaw down on his legs, with a terrified bystander filming the incident.
Video showed the worker half submerged in the pool, remaining perfectly still.
A bystander had extended a pole through the fence of the enclosure, with the worker holding onto it for dear life.
Gasps and panicked voices emanated from the crowd that had gathered to watch on in helpless horror.

Gibson John told the ABC he was among the crowd that saw the attack unfold.
‘He brought the chicken to the fence and the crocodile attacked the person and tried to bring him into the pool,’ he said.
‘We couldn’t assist at that time, [but] I managed to contact the St John’s Ambulance.
‘The security guards had no guns, but gave him a small iron rod to use until the police and St John’s Ambulance came.
‘He was in severe pain but he couldn’t scream.’
Mr John revealed one of the final phrases the wildlife worker spoke.
The attack comes after social media photos showed staff handling crocodiles at the park, with one worker seen sitting on the back of one of the predators
‘He couldn’t speak properly at that time. It was the pain I could see from his eyes,’ he said.
‘The only thing I could hear him say was, “I haven’t done anything wrong”.’
Emergency services were called to the scene, with police shooting the crocodile.
