    A Nigerian man sparked a debate online after he shared the moment he realized he couldn’t marry his girlfriend.

    In a recent tweet on X, formerly Twitter, he described his girlfriend as ‘desperate’ and ‘forward’, with claims that she was rushing things.

    According to him, his girlfriend would visit his parents without his knowledge and buy them gifts on their birthdays.

    Further stated that this act was a red flag to him, and no man wants to wife a lady who pushes things too fast.

    A part of his tweet read;

    “She started calling my mom without me telling her to. She even bought a watch for my dad, and I was shocked that she even knew his birthday. This girl was too forward and too intentional; the idea that she was moving too fast annoyed me. She doesn’t know yet, but never, never, never.

    How did she find out it was his birthday when I didn’t even tell her? She was creepy, trying to act all nice and get my parents to like her. It was supposed to be my call, not putting me in a position where everyone else will feel like I was an ass.

    I see all your responses, but no man wants a woman who pushes things. We are not married yet, and you go visiting my parents, buying gifts, running errands no one asked you to run, and trying to be a perfect wife material. Goddamnit. That’s a big red flag to me.“

    However, when a tweep joked that his girlfriend might break up with him if she saw the post, he replied, “I hope so too before I do.”
