Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson has been suspended for two games after his post-game altercation on Monday Night Football.

Jackson punched Buffalo Bills outside linebacker Bradley Chubb following the game’s conclusion.

He will now miss the Rams’ games against the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders before being eligible to return to the active roster on Monday, October 26.

The NFL confirmed his punishment in a statement, explaining: ‘After the game, as players were shaking hands and exchanging jerseys, Jackson struck Buffalo linebacker Bradley Chubb in the face after a brief confrontation, violating Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which applies to ‘any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.’

The bizarre circumstance took place after the Bills beat the Rams 37-34 in overtime in Los Angeles.

In a video showing the incident, Chubb appears to say something to Jackson and pointing at him while the LA player was swapping jerseys with Deone Walker.

Jackson then began walking aggressively toward Chubb, getting in his face and then throwing a punch which knocked the Bills player’s hat off.

Teammates of both players intervened. Rams players Colby Parkinson and Shaun Dolac calmed Jackson down as Chubb was pulled back by his collar by Walker. Bills star Greg Rousseau also stepped in on his teammate’s behalf.

Canadian offensive lineman Jackson, 28, is in his sixth season with the Rams and won the Super Bowl with the franchise in 2021.

He signed a three-year, $57 million contract extension with the team in 2025 but faced legal issues over the offseason ahead of the new season.

Jackson was accused of attacking his pregnant girlfriend in June but avoided any criminal charges after being arrested on suspicion of domestic battery on June 8.

Police were called to his San Fernando Valley home over an alleged dispute with the 38-year-old woman, who claimed she had been left with ‘scratches and bruises’.

However, prosecutors said in July they would not be filing charges against Jackson ‘at this time.’

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, Ivor Pine, confirmed the news to the California Post.

Pine said: ‘This matter has been assigned for a City Attorney Hearing, a pre-filing diversion available to eligible individuals that is an alternative to misdemeanor criminal prosecution.

‘Charges are not filed against the respondent at this time, however, the case stays open throughout the length of the statute of limitations. It can be re-evaluated if there are further developments.’

Jackson served a two-game suspension in 2024 under the NFL’s personal conduct policy for an undisclosed violation, later linked to him being named in a November 2025 civil lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by a woman alleging he recorded her without consent during sex and refused to delete the video.

The plaintiff claimed the alleged incident occurred in May 2024 and reported it to the NFL. The lawsuit was eventually dismissed in April 2026 after being moved to federal court.
