Ghanaian American football star, Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, linebacker for the Michigan Wolverines football, has touched down in Ghana.

Nathaniel Owusu‑Boateng is a highly‑ranked American high school (now college) American football linebacker prospect with roots in Ghanaian heritage, known for his recruiting attention from top U.S. programs.

As a young player on a crowded linebacker corps, he saw limited snaps in the 2025 season but flashed athletic range and pursuit ability when on the field, drawing praise in depth‑chart analyses for his sideline‑to‑sideline speed and potential impact in run support. Expectations remain high heading into the upcoming season, with fans and analysts alike viewing him as a breakout candidate as he gains experience and more consistent playing time.

It is still unclear the exact purpose of his trip to Ghana but sections of the media has spotted him with individuals believed to be his family members .
