    Social media critic Daniel Regha has reacted to the plan to distribute one million Bibles in celebration of Seyi Tinubu’s birthday.

    Taking to X (Twitter), Regha mocked the initiative, suggesting that perhaps next time, anointing oil and holy water could be added to the package.

    Regha described the move as ‘another slap to Nigerians’, questioning the priorities of those in power while criticizing the nature of such gestures in the face of widespread poverty.

    “Seyi Tinubu’s birthday will be celebrated with the disbursement of “one million Bibles” to whoever will accept; A million Bibles, wonderful. Maybe next time they can add anointing oil and holy water to facilitate prayers for the poor, since that’s what is needed the most in the country now. Again, this is another sl@p to Nigerians.“ He wrote

    He also took a jab at religious leaders, saying they may have paved the way for such performative acts.

    The tweet has sparked mixed reactions online. While some defended the Bible giveaway, others agreed with Daniel Regha, arguing that what Nigerians need more urgently are practical solutions, not religious items.

    Below are some of the comments;

    “A million Bibles won’t feed the hungry, won’t pay school fees, won’t fix power, won’t end insecurity. Nigerians don’t need more holy books; we need holy governance.”

    “Who really gives them that advice of sharing a bible no try oo……country no good una the celebrate birthday.”

    “The Bibles are shared for Nigerians to easily pray against the hardships. Tinubu is a master strategist for real.“

    “But who can we really blame? The politicians only learned this from the pulpit. When the so-called men of God normalize using religion to distract the suffering, don’t be shocked when the powerful copy the same playbook.”
