NEWCASTLE have no plans to cash in on inform Anthony Gordon, talkSPORT understands.
Gordon’s excellent recent form of seven goals in his last 12 games has put clubs higher up the table on alert, while the England international came close to joining Liverpool two years ago.
Links over a possible move to Liverpool remain. Despite graduating from the Everton academy, Gordon began his youth career on the red half of Merseyside and is a boyhood Liverpool fan.
Crucially for Newcastle, months after that Anfield move fell through, Gordon penned a new contract keeping him at St James Park until the summer of 2028. That deal is not thought to include a release clause.
Keeping Gordon will be a big statement for the Magpies, with clubs also circling for the likes of Sandro Tonali and Tino Livramento, as reported in last week’s notebook.
