A programmes Management and Civil Engineering expert, Dr Emmanuel Abeere-Inga, on Friday assumed office as he took over from Mr Sulley Sambian, the outgoing CEO of the authority.

He was appointed by President John Mahama last month to be the acting CEO of the authority.

Until his appointment, Dr Abeere-Inga was working as Director of Infrastructure, Lands, Environment and Natural Resources at the NDA.

At a handing over ceremony here in Tamale, the Acting CEO assured of working closely with staff and management to address some of the challenges the authority was facing.

He appealed to the staff to be united and work together to attract the needed resources to deliver on the mandate of the authority.

“If we continue to hold each other together and work together as a family in the authority, we will get the needed resources to deliver effectively to the people of northern Ghana,” he stated.

The Acting CEO told the staff to be mindful of their public utterances about the authority in order not to damage its reputation.

He said the establishment of NDA was to accelerate the development of the north, hence the need for everyone to support him realise the goals of the authority.

He also applauded the outgoing CEO, Mr Sulley Sambian, for his “kindness, love and the harmony” that he brought to the staff of the authority

For her part, the Deputy CEO of the authority, Mrs Jamilatu Ibrahim, said they were not there to “witch-hunt anybody” but rather to support the growth of the authority.

The outgoing CEO, Mr Sambian, thanked the staff for the cooperation and love they gave him during his two years in office, adding “during my tenure we touched lives even though they could not solve all the problems.”

Mr Sambian urged the staff to cooperate and support the new leadership, expressing the hope that such familial spirit of working together would continue in the authority for the good people of the north.
