Social media users have rallied in defence of Ghanaian singer Cina Soul after filmmaker Big Akwes made a disturbing remark about her during an interview on Bryt TV.

The comment, which Cina Soul described as threatening, has sparked massive outrage online, with many Ghanaians condemning both the actor and the media outlet for what they see as reckless and harmful behaviour.

The incident occurred during an entertainment segment on Bryt TV, where Big Akwes took part in a game of “Kiss, Marry, Kill.”

When asked to choose between actress Vivian Jill, Agradaa and singer Cina Soul, Big Akwes said he would marry Vivian Jill.

However, instead of offering a light response for the “kill” option, he launched into graphic details about how he would harm Cina Soul.

He described summoning her spiritually through a magic mirror, repeatedly stabbing her with a knife, and drinking her blood.

The violent imagery quickly spread online after Cina Soul shared the video on her X page on July 1, 2025.

Tagging the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of Communications, Cina Soul stated that she feels “deeply unsettled” and feared for her safety.

Her response has since drawn massive attention and sparked public criticism directed at both Big Akwes and Bryt TV.

Scores of Ghanaians have since expressed anger over what they view as a serious lapse in judgment on the part of the show’s producers and host.

One user, outraged by the content aired, questioned how such remarks could be allowed on national television:

“Herh, what sort of nonsense is this? So silly to talk about a girl who hasn’t done anything to you in that way. Sue them!”

Others directed their frustration at the host of the segment, accusing her of deliberately steering the conversation in a provocative direction:

“The host asked the question. She instigated this. She knew what she was doing,” one user wrote.

Another questioned the state of media regulation in Ghana, arguing that threatening content should never be broadcast:

“I wonder if the media space is really regulated. This can’t be deemed entertainment. Not with a death threat on someone’s life.”

The tv station and the host have to be severely punished by the NIA, and media organizations and authorities. They intentionally brought the guy to talk this nonsense with you as a target just to trend. This nonsense going on camouflaged as entertainment should not be allowed to…
