Social media is abuzz after Tottenham Hotspur used Ghanaian artiste Stonebwoy’s music to unveil the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus on July 10, 2025.

The North London club shared a 38-second video in which Kudus was welcomed with a special refix of Stonebwoy’s hit song ‘Overlord’ from his 2024 ‘Up & Running’ album.

The lyrics were altered to include references to “Spurs” and “Kudus,” giving the video a personalized touch and showcasing Ghanaian culture.

In the video, Kudus appeared in Tottenham’s away jersey, holding a microphone and declaring, “I only wanted Spurs.”

Stonebwoy’s involvement came as no surprise, Kudus has long been a fan of the musician, and their friendship dates back to his time at Ajax.

That bond continued during Kudus’ stint at West Ham, where he once invited Stonebwoy to watch him play at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, the video has since quickly gained traction online, especially among Ghanaians who were thrilled to see one of their top music icons spotlighted in a global football moment.

Media personality Ohene-Bampoe Brenya commented,“We are all we got, and we can only win by being deliberate about things like this. A Black Star puts not just @stonebwoy but our sound and rhythm on the world stage.”

One fan tweeted, “Anytime Kudus scores for Tottenham, we’re gonna remember Stonebwoy. Instant cultural impact.”

Another added, “Kudus putting Stonebwoy on with his Tottenham Hotspur announcement is why he’ll always be my Starboy.”
