Former Hearts of Oak managing director Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe has chosen Ishmael Addo over Mahatma Otoo as his favourite Ghanaian striker between the two.

In a video by Connect FM, the Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Football Association was asked to choose between some former Ghanaian footballers.

The standout choice was when he had to pick between two of the great strikers to play for Hearts of Oak: Mahatma Otoo and Ishmael Addo. Although it was a tough decision, the former Hearts of Oak managing director selected Ishmael Addo.

Among other players he had to choose between were Sammy Adjei and James Nanor, where he picked Sammy Adjei, and Amankwah Mireku over Joe Aggrey. He also chose Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor over Anthony Annan, while he passed on the chance to select between two of the best strikers to grace the Ghana Premier League: Don Bortey and Charles Taylor.

Widely regarded as the ‘King of Goals’, Ishmael Addo scored 103 goals in 124 appearances for the Phobians, winning four league titles, two FA Cups, the CAF Champions League, and the CAF Super Cup. He also won three Golden Boot awards as the top scorer in the Ghana Premier League between 1999 and 2001.

For Mahatma Otoo, he had a successful spell with Hearts of Oak, scoring ten league goals in 19 games in his debut season in the Ghana Premier League in 2009 and winning a CAF Champions League silver medal with Espérance Tunis in 2010. He was also the top scorer with 20 goals in the Ghana Premier League in the 2012-2013 season while also winning the Best Player award.
