Head of Public Relations Strategy at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, has refuted claims of the GFA President, Kurt Okraku seeking a third term when his current tenure ends in 2027

Speculations that Kurt Okraku is seeking a third term in office have raised concerns among some fans and stakeholders who have argued that such a move might undermine the governance practices within Ghana football.

However, in an interview on Connect FM, the head of Public Relations Strategy at the GFA entreated the public to wait for an official statement from the president of the Football Association before they make their claims.

“This three-term conversation is purely speculative and a rumour at this point. Until there is an official statement or tangible evidence supporting such claims, I advise everyone to treat it as a mere rumour.

“At the FA, Kurt always reminds us he has only three years left to achieve what he promised the football eco-system,” he said.

President Kurt Okraku was voted into office of the Ghana Football Association in 2019 and after a first term in office, he was reelected to lead the administration again in 2023.

His administration has been marred by successive Africa Cup of Nations group stage exits by the Black Stars, drawing excessive criticisms from some followers of Ghana football.
