The National Democratic Congress (NDC) committee tasked with investigating allegations of vote buying and inducement during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primaries has completed its work and submitted its findings to the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC).

The report was officially handed over on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Speaking to journalists after the submission, committee member Inusah Fuseini declined to disclose details of the findings, stressing that the report now belongs to the party’s leadership.

“We have just submitted the report to the party. We cannot share any details at this point. Any report we produce is the property of the Functional Executive Committee, and the party will, in due course, communicate its contents to the public,” he said.

Decision on Baba Jamal’s reinstatement rests with President Mahama – Kwakye Ofosu

Fuseini confirmed that all five candidates who contested the primary were invited and questioned as part of the investigations into the alleged vote-buying incidents.

Meanwhile, sources at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) have confirmed to 3News that one of the candidates, Baba Jamal, who is at the centre of the allegations, has been invited for questioning.

The three-member committee was set up by the NDC following claims that some candidates attempted to influence delegates with money and other inducements during the party’s parliamentary primary held on Saturday, February 7.

Among the allegations is that Baba Jamal distributed cash, television sets and other items to delegates in an attempt to secure their votes.

Although Baba Jamal has since been declared the winner of the primary, the controversy has deepened, with members of the Majority in Parliament calling for the results to be annulled. They argue that such actions run contrary to the NDC’s democratic principles and values.

However, constituency executives in Ayawaso East have pushed back against calls for annulment, insisting the election outcome should stand.
