The NatWest banking app has gone down leaving thousands of customers unable to access their money.

More than a thousand customers had complained about the issue by 9am this morning, outage monitoring site DownDetector recorded.

The site showed a surge of complaints in the early morning, from shortly after 7am.

And NatWest have responded to customers on social media, saying there is ‘no timescale’ for it to be fixed but they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as they can.

The high-street bank also reported outages in early October, August and May this year.

Customers were quick to vent their fury on social media as they found themselves unable to access their money.

Many woke up confronted by a message saying there had been ‘some kind of error… when trying to establish a connecton between your device and ourselves.’

One, Don Orgun, posted a screenshot of the error message alongside the plea: ‘Hi, NatWest app is down again, please report it to your IT teams.

    ‘This is happening too frequently.’

How do I check the status of NatWest?

You can check the ban’s service status page to see how NatWest is performing.

The page contains information about mobile banking, online banking and card transactions.

NatWest also regularly updates the page to keep customers informed about issues or planned maintenance.

Keep returning to this page to check for any updates and confirmation of the issues being resolved.

Generally, the provider will also give updates on its service via its social media channels.
